What the archives say

Listing historyNotable events

Revenue's renewed-liquor-licence register lists licence ref S3535 as a Publican's Licence (ordinary) - Theatre for CIVIC THEATRE at TALLAGHT in DUBLIN CITY with CIVIC THEATRE COMPANY LIMITED as licensee.[1] The Irish Times reported that the opening of Tallaght's Civic Theatre featured Mark O'Rowe's play *Howie the Rookie* as its first production.[2] The Irish Times also reported that South Dublin County Council set up an independent company, limited by guarantee, to run the Civic Theatre.[3]
