Revenue's renewed-liquor-licence register lists licence ref 1014606 as a Publican's Licence (Ordinary) Hotel - BF - 1902 Act (Public Bar) for CLAYTON HOTEL BALLSBRIDGE at MERRION ROAD, BALLSBRIDGE in DUBLIN CITY with HEARTSIDE LIMITED as licensee.[1]

Irish Times reported in December 2014 that Dalata intended to acquire most of the Moran Bewley's Hotel Group for EUR455m, including Bewley's hotels in Ballsbridge, Dublin Airport, Leopardstown, and Newlands Cross.[2] Irish Times reported in June 2015 that Dalata would invest EUR27m in upgrading Clayton and Maldron hotels and rebrand 10 recently acquired hotels as Clayton hotels, including the former Bewley's hotels in Ballsbridge and Dublin Airport.[3]
