Revenue's renewed-liquor-licence register lists licence ref 1003697 as a Publican's Licence (ordinary) - Theatre for LIGHTHOUSE CINEMA at MARKET SQUARE, SMITHFIELD in DUBLIN CITY with E. P. LIGHT HOUSE LIMITED as licensee.[1]

The Irish Times reported that the Light House cinema in Smithfield originally opened in March 2008, closed in 2011 after a High Court order, and was due to reopen in January 2012 under Element Pictures management.[2]

TheJournal.ie reported that the reopened Light House was to be used for Jameson Dublin International Film Festival screenings, and that the previous closure had cost 20 jobs.[3]

In 2018, TheJournal.ie reported that Call Me By Your Name had become Light House's longest-running film after running at the Smithfield cinema for 30 weeks.[4]

An Irish Times profile of Element Pictures said the company moved into exhibition in 2012 through Dublin's Light House Cinema and later added Galway's Palas.[5]
