Revenue's renewed-liquor-licence register lists licence ref 1020862 as a Publican's Licence (Ordinary) Hotel - BF - 1902 Act (Public Bar) for NYX HOTEL DUBLIN PORTOBELLO at "SITUATE AT FORMER HARBOUR HOUSE AND DML HOUSE, PORTOBELLO HARBOUR" in Dublin City, with FATTAL LEONARDO OPERATION (IRELAND) LIMITED as the licensee.[1]

In 2019, The Irish Times reported that An Bord Pleanála granted permission for a new €40m hotel development in Portobello, including a 178-bedroom six-storey hotel by MKN Property Group and Tifco Ltd, after locals appealed Dublin City Council's grant of permission.[2]

In December 2023, the Irish Independent described NYX Hotel Dublin as a new 175-bed hotel in Portobello, owned and operated by Leonardo Hotels, overlooking the Grand Canal and plaza at Portobello Harbour, and said it was the result of a €31m investment.[3]
