The Irish Times reported on 2026-04-08 that a private-investor consortium had acquired The Dalkey Duck from Gary Whelan, with the price understood to be around €2.5 million and the buyers intending refurbishment and rebrand.[2]
An Bord Pleanála inspector's report for ABP-304937-19 concerned lands to the rear of The Dalkey Duck public house at 61 Castle Street and recommended permission for demolition of two single-storey buildings and construction of 12 guest accommodation units with replacement ancillary buildings.[3]
