Revenue's renewed-liquor-licence register lists licence ref N1994 as a Publican's Licence (7-Day Ordinary) for THE GRAND SOCIAL at 35 LOWER LIFFEY STREET AND, 40 LOWER ORMOND QUAY, AND EXTENSION ATTACHED TO AND ADJOINING in DUBLIN CITY with GRASOC LIMITED as licensee.[1]
TheJournal.ie reported in 2019 that 35 Liffey Street Lower was previously home to Pravda, that John Brereton DJed in Pravda for six years until 2007, and that Brereton later became involved in what became The Grand Social after Brian Montague purchased the property.[2]
TheJournal.ie also reported that The Grand Social's programming spanned jazz, indie rock, hip-hop, and string quintets.[2]
