Listing historyCultural mentions

Revenue's renewed-liquor-licence register lists licence ref S0117 as a Publican's Licence (7-Day Ordinary) for THE LORD EDWARD at 1 WERBURGH STREET, AND 1ST FLOOR OF 2 WERBURGH STREET in DUBLIN CITY with BALTIMORE TAVERNS LIMITED as licensee.[1] The Irish Times described The Lord Edward as Dublin's oldest seafood restaurant and said it sat above the pub of the same name on Christchurch Place.[2] A 1999 Irish Times review said the Lord Edward name was taken from Lord Edward Fitzgerald, whose remains are buried across the street in St Werburgh's Church.[3]
