Revenue's renewed-liquor-licence register lists licence ref S0314 as a Publican's Licence (7-Day Ordinary) for THE QUEENS at 12 CASTLE STREET, DALKEY in CO. DUBLIN with GLEBE TAVERNS LIMITED as licensee.[1]
The Irish Times reported on 02/10/2024 that the Queens pub in Dalkey had returned to the market just over three years after its acquisition for EUR3.5 million by hoteliers Ray Byrne and Eoin Doyle, with JLL and Lisney offering it as a going concern at a EUR3.95 million guide price.[2]
The same Irish Times report said the venue had planning permission for a 30-bedroom boutique guest house to the rear and described the Queens as one of Ireland's oldest pubs, with a history dating back to 1745.[2]
In 2007, The Irish Times reported that the Old Tramyard site near the Queens pub was approved for residential development after an eight-year planning battle over 19th-century tramyard buildings.[3]
