When the ECB came to Kyteler's
When Christine Lagarde and the ECB Governing Council visited Kyteler's Inn in May 2024, armed and plain-clothes Garda security around Kieran Street made the usually busy pub's entrance unusually controlled. The group received an Irish evening of dinner, sean-nós singing and dancing, whiskey tasting and bodhrán lessons.

The talking ghost beer tap
For Halloween 2016, a talking 'Ghost of Sully' beer tap at Kyteler's Inn startled visitors, chatted them up and demanded the barman warm his hands before pouring. Kilkenny People reports it was a Sullivans brewery/RTE The Fear promotional prank.

Alice Kyteler and Petronella de Meath
Kyteler's Inn is associated with the site of Alice Kyteler's home. Local historical reporting records that Alice fled the 1324 prosecution, while her servant Petronella de Meath was tortured, condemned and executed; that distinction should remain explicit in any pub-page copy.
