Revenue's renewed-liquor-licence register lists licence ref 1017594 as a Publican's Licence (Ordinary) Hotel - BF - 1902 Act (Public Bar) for KEAVAN'S PORT HOTEL at 1-5 CAMDEN STREET UPPER &, 49-51 CAMDEN STREET LOWER, (INCLUDING 12 GRANTHAM PLACE AND EXTENSIONS ADJOINING THERETO in DUBLIN CITY with J D WETHERSPOON PLC as licensee.[1]
In 2021, The Irish Times reported that JD Wetherspoon's Keavan's Port on Camden Street was the company's single largest investment in its 41-year history, involving a EUR27.4 million restoration of eight Georgian townhouses and a chapel, plus a three-storey modern extension with a 12-metre-high glazed atrium.[2] The Irish Times also reported that Keavan's Port was an 89-bedroom hotel and Wetherspoon's eighth pub in Ireland.[3] In 2023, Irish Independent coverage said Keavan's Port faced a planning dispute over reopening a beer garden after Dublin City Council served two enforcement notices for breach of planning.[4]
