The Irish Times reported that Vicar Street opened on Thomas Street in September 1998, with Shay Cotter christening the venue and Tom Robinson headlining.[2]
The Irish Times reported in 2022 that Vicar Street, developed by Harry Crosbie, had a seated capacity of 1,050 and had been Irish music venue of the year five times between 2008 and 2019.[3]
